5-Ingredient Authentic Italian Bruschetta

By the end of this week, my hope is that you will be able to create a full Italian dinner that is authentic in its taste and oh-so-satisfying with each bite. Starting off with our 5-Ingredient Authentic Italian Bruschetta that is the easiest appetizer ever! And tomorrow is a recipe I’ve remade three times to make sure you have only the best Italian Beef Lasagna, followed with a … well, I’ll let the dessert remain a surprise for now 😉

Now that the farmers markets are fully blossoming with vibrant shades of tomatoes and other produce, I couldn’t help but dedicate this week to be Italian since a great majority of their dishes use tomatoes! And while almost any variety of tomatoes will work just fine for the recipe, some of the best choices would be to find cherry tomatoes or Roma tomatoes.

What is the difference between crostini and bruschetta?

Often times, there isn’t even a difference – just simply a name mix up. But if being specific, crostini is made with the cross-sections of a baguette, while bruschetta is most known for it’s grilled slices of bread that’s been rubbed with raw garlic for the most robust flavors. Also, with crostini, you’ll find a variety of toppings from cheeses to figs to honey, etc. etc. While traditional Bruschetta keeps it pretty simple with vine-ripened tomatoes, fresh. basil, and garlic.

What is the best way to toast the bread?

The ideal way to prepare the bread slices is rubbing them with a raw clove of garlic, then grilling them on a charcoal grill – making it the perfect summer cookout appetizer!

Now, it’s time to grab our aprons and begin baking deliciousness!
