Cheese Stuffed Fried Olives Appetizer

Pitted olives stuffed with aged cheddar cheese, battered with a simply parmesan breadcrumb, and fried until crispy. These Cheese Stuffed Fried Olives are an easy appetizer for game day tailgates or holiday dinner parties, and a big crowd pleaser!

Ingredients you’ll need:

  • All Purpose Flour
  • Salt, Black Pepper, & Paprika
  • Panko Breadcrumbs
  • Grated Parmesan
  • Eggs
  • Pitted Olives
  • Aged White Cheddar Cheese

How to Make Fried Olives:

These fried olives are one of the easiest appetizer recipes for game day tailgates or holiday dinner parties, especially since you can make them in advance and reheat the next day at 400F for 6-8 minutes, until crispy again and warmed through. 

  1. Place a saucepan over medium high heat. Add 2-3″ of frying oil to heat up to 375F.
  2. Set up the battering station with three bowls. In the first bowl, mix the flour and seasonings. In the second bowl, add the beaten eggs. In the third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and grated parmesan. 
  3. Slice the aged cheddar into tiny pieces, then gently press into the centers of each pitted olives. 
  4. Dredge the cheese-stuffed olives in the flour, then the beaten eggs, then the breadcrumb mixture. If desired, you can double coat by dredging through the flour, eggs, flour, eggs, then breadcrumbs for extra crunch. 
  5. Fry in small batches for 2-3 minutes, until deeply golden and crispy on all sides. Garnish with more freshly grated parmesan to serve.

How to Make Homemade Honey Dijon Sauce:

You’ll simply combine all ingredients below in a bowl. Mix until smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Thin out with water to desired preference. Enjoy with the pretzel bites!

  • 2 tbsp. Dijon Mustard
  • 2 tbsp. Yellow Mustard
  • 2 tbsp. Honey
  • Juice of 1/2 Lemon

  • 2 tbsp. Yellow Mustard
  • 2 tbsp. Honey
  • Juice of 1/2 Lemon
