Copycat McDonald’s Chicken Nuggets
McDonald’s Cheeseburgers, Fries, & Chicken Nuggets are a combo that wins time and time again. So, we’re making it healthier and at home today!


Ingredients you’ll need (for the Chicken Nuggets):
- ground chicken
- eggs
- salt
- cornstarch
- onion powder
- garlic powder
- paprika
- black pepper
- flour
- club soda



How to Make a McDonald’s Cheeseburger?
My secret formula for a copycat McDonald’s cheeseburger is the following:
- ketchup on bottom bun
- crisp lettuce
- two smash burgers with American cheese
- thinly sliced red onion
- pickles
- mustard on top bun

McDonald’s Chicken Nuggets (At Home)
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs. Ground Chicken
- 2 large Eggs
- 2 tsp. Kosher Salt
- 1 cup Cornstarch
- 1 tbsp. Onion Powder
- 1 tbsp. Garlic Powder
- 1 tbsp. Paprika
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 cup Flour
- 1 cup Club Soda
Instructions
- In a food processor, blend the chicken, 1 egg, salt, and seasonings (garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika) until paste-like.
- Form the chicken into tablespoon sized nuggets.
- Add the cornstarch to a bowl to coat the chicken nuggets in, then transfer to a parchment paper lined baking pan.
- Freeze for 20 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, remaining egg, and club soda. Season with more garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika to desired taste. Mix until a smooth batter.
- In a saucepan over medium high heat, bring 3-4″ of frying oil to 350F.
- Working in small batches, dip the nuggets in the batter then add to the frying oil to cook 2-3 minutes, until floating.
- Remove with a slotted spoon to a paper towel lined plate while you fry the other nuggets.
- Working from the first batch of nuggets to the last, fry a second time for another 2-3 minutes, until golden.
- Allow the nuggets to cool 5-10 minutes before enjoying!

I couldn’t find ground chicken, so I cut chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and it was soooooo good! Bonus- I used King Arthur’s gluten free flour and that was excellent as well!
