Crispy Honey Ginger Cauliflower Bites
These cauliflower bites are battered, fried until super crunchy, and tossed in a sticky honey ginger sauce. I’ve made these Crispy Honey Ginger Cauliflower Bites more times than I can count the last two weeks, it’s very easy to make, and is one of the most addicting veggie side dish this winter!

Ingredients you’ll need:
- Cauliflower
- Honey
- Fresh Ginger
- Soy Sauce
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- Flour
- Salt, Black Pepper, Garlic Powder, Paprika
- Olive Oil
- Neutral Frying Oil


I’ve tried this recipe with a few different varieties of Cauliflower, such as:
- White Cauliflower
- Green Romanesco Cauliflower
- Orange Cauliflower
- Purple Cauliflower
And they all taste SO amazing!! The purple cauliflower are such a treat during the Fall and Winter seasons as they offer a more mild and slightly sweet flavor. Highly recommend checking out your local farmers markets in search of them!

Crispy Honey Ginger Cauliflower Bites
Ingredients
- 1 head Cauliflower sliced into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup Flour
- 1 tsp. Baking Powder
- 1 tsp. each: Black Pepper, Paprika, & Garlic Powder
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
- 3/4 cup Hot Water
- 1 tbsp. Olive Oil
- 1-2 ” Fresh Ginger minced
- 1/3 cup Honey
- 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp. Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 tbsp. Sesame Seeds
- 1 tsp. Flour
- Neutral Frying Oil
Instructions
- Place a deep saucepan over medium high heat. Add 2-3″ of a neutral frying oil. Heat up to 350F, or until glistening.
- In a large bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder together.
- Add the hot water and whisk until smooth. The batter should be silky and thick like cake batter, add more water as needed.
- Add the chopped cauliflower into the bowl and toss until very well coated in the batter.
- Working in small batches, fry the cauliflower for 3-4 minutes, until crispy and golden. Remove with a slotted spoon to place on paper towel lined plate.
- (Optional) After frying all the cauliflower, work in small batches once again to deep fry them a second time for 1-2 minutes for extra crispiness.
- Set the cauliflower aside.
- In a large skillet over medium high heat, add the olive oil and minced ginger. Sauté for 1 minute.
- Add the soy sauce, honey, flour, and sesame seeds. Whisk until flour is absorbed by the liquids. Stir in 1/2 – 3/4 cup of water, depending on how thick you want the sauce.
- Bring the sauce to a boil, then add the the fried cauliflower to toss until well coated in the sticky sauce. Enjoy warm!

I’ve missed honey sesame chicken since I went pescatarian at the beginning of the year and this was such a perfect replacement! Maybe even better since I didn’t like the taste of chicken to begin with 😂 I’m about to make it for my second time today!
