Food Hacks w/ Extra Virgin Olive Oil
If you are a true A Bright Moment fan, than you now by now how much we love our extra virgin olive oil! Olive Oil is an ingredient of many wonders, since you can use it in such versatile ways, such as a healthier substitute for butter in almost all recipes, natural face serum, hair mask, and so on. Please enjoy these food hacks w/ extra virgin olive oil!
With it’s endless possibilities, I thought I would share two of my favorite food hacks using extra virgin olive oil that come quite handy on a daily basis:
The first food hack is freezing the extra virgin olive with fresh herbs and sea salt in an ice cube tray. It is as simple as it sounds… you put a few sprigs of your favorite fresh herbs with a pinch of sea salt and black pepper (optional). Then, fill up each cube with extra virgin olive oil. Place the ice cube tray in the freezer, and allow it to sit for 2 hours or until solid.
This is AMAZING to use when in a rush, but you want to add an extra boost of flavor to your cooking. I always use this when cooking meat, add into cooked rice, and so on. It honestly looks almost just like butter when you go to place it into a pan!
The second food hack is using a little bit of extra virgin olive oil when measuring out honey for a recipe. If you know, then you know how hard it is to measure honey when it tends to stick to the sides of the measuring utensil.
Simply put a little drizzle of extra virgin olive oil in your designated measuring cup, then take a paper towel to spread it around the measuring utensil. And then go on as normal as you measure out the honey. The honey should come out smoothly and easily, leaving you with an empty measuring cup by the end of it.
And for anyone worrying about tasting the extra virgin olive oil… I am here to say that it will not affect your recipe! You only need such a small amount that it truly won’t having a huge enough effect.
Also, for anyone in the market for an authentic, Italian extra virgin olive oil, then I HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking out b-farms.com … their products do not disappoint! (not sponsored)
