Homemade Bourbon Vanilla Extract (DIY Christmas Gifts)
Finding Christmas gifts for everyone can be stressful and expensive, but DIY Christmas Gifts are a sweet and more personal touch that can save your budget this year. First up, we have Homemade Vanilla Extract that uses just two ingredients: Vanilla Beans and Bourbon. That’s it!

Ingredients you’ll need:
- Vodka or Bourbon
- Vanilla Beans (whole)
Equipment you’ll need:
- 4-6 oz. Bottles
- I used 8 oz bottles but I would recommend 4 oz. to 6 oz. bottles. I have some good Amazon options linked below!
- Small funnel
- Kitchen knife

TIPS for Gifting Homemade Vanilla Extract:
- Make sure the vanilla beans are covered completely with liquor; otherwise, they will get soggy and mushy.
- I suggest removing the vanilla beans prior to gifting.
- Let it sit in a dark place, like your pantry or in a cabinet, for 30 days and up to 90 days. The longer it sits the stronger the vanilla flavor will be.
- Top off the vanilla extract with more vodka or bourbon every time you use it, then shake the bottle to evenly distribute it, for an endless supply of vanilla extract!
