  1. Sometimes goat cheese can be a bit “gamey” for me. What else might I use in place of it?

  2. Have you tried baking these on a baking sheet instead of muffin tins? I only have the flat pans and worry about them holding their shape. Excited to try this recipe it looks delish!!!

    1. Hi Carol! They should hold their shape well on a rimmed, flat baking sheet! Just make sure it’s rimmed so you can drizzle with plenty of olive oil 😉

  3. Have you tried this recipe with fried figs instead of fresh? Wondering if I could sub bc my store doesn’t have fresh figs at the moment

    1. The fresh figs are totally optional! But dried figs sounds like a delicious substitute!!

  4. Hi, how long in advance can you prepare the rolls before baking? Can I prepare them a day in advance?

YUM!!!! I skipped dessert and ate two of these instead ?! They were like baklava on a new level! Light, airy, and flavorful with a little crunch ♡

I made these last night and they were incredible! I got so many comments on how they must have taken hours to make.

My only critique is that the pecans inside made for a chalky bite. When I make these again (which I definitely will), I’ll be sprinkling the pecans on top for better texture.

The overall taste is delicious! I was testing these out for a party, so I halved the recipe. I shouldn’t have halved the phyllo dough:-/. Can I use paper cups to cook them in? They were a little messy to hold.

    1. Hi Linda! Yes you could absolutely bake in baking paper cups to help with clean up afterwards 😉

      1. hi kris! yes they could be and baked from frozen too, just may need to bake a little longer!

    1. I would think so!! Maybe try at 400F for 5 minute intervals, then reduce to 350F if you see they still need time but are getting too toasty on top.
