Summer is on its way… meaning swimsuit season is right around the corner. But taking away desserts from me is like taking away ice cream from a baby. You feel? So here it is.. my VEGAN BANANA SPLIT recipe. It not only tastes AMAZING but can actually be SUPER HEALTHY for you! (You can even have it for breakfast!) Plus, it only takes 5 MINUTES to make!
FIRST, start off with your favorite peanut butter or almond butter.
TIP: Make your own almond butter by toasting raw almonds at 350 F for 8-10 minutes. In blender, combine freshly baked almonds, olive oil, and honey to your desired texture/taste. I use Batistini Farms Organic Olive Oil, and local honey for the best taste!
SECONDLY, drizzle local honey on top of bananas.
NOTE: Local honey has been found to reduce spring allergies, and a healthier alternative to using sugar for a sweetener.
THIRDLY, top with your favorite vanilla yogurt.
I personally love Icelandic Provisions vanilla yogurt that I get at Whole Foods.
FOURTHLY, add on your favorite granola or muesli.
I have been using Bob’s Red Mills’ muesli for yearss.
FINALLY, add your favorite dessert toppings.
My vegan banana split included: coconut shavings, dark chocolate shavings, and chia seeds.
