In a small saucepan, bring 1 1/2 cups water to a boil. If you prefer even creamier oats, then use a 50:50 ratio of water to milk.
In the meantime, finely chop the pear.
Add half of the chopped pears, rolled oats, nutmeg, vanilla extract, salt, and (optional) ginger powder into the water. Use a spoon to stir it all together.
Reduce heat to low to cook your oats for 5-6 minutes, or until your preferred creaminess. Transfer to a serving bowl, then add the remaining chopped pear and drizzle with maple syrup. Enjoy!
