Crispy Honey Lime Grilled Butterflied Chicken Drumsticks

This is the BEST way to grill chicken drumsticks! With a honey lime glaze and crispy skin, this recipe makes for an easy, affordable, and healthy summer dinner when hosting family!

Ingredients you'll need:

  • Sanderson Farms Chicken Drumsticks Value Pack
  • ¼ cup BBQ Seasoning, or favorite chicken seasoning
  • ½ cup Honey
  • 1 Lime, juice and zest
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 1” Fresh Ginger, grated

How to Make Grilled Butterflied Chicken Drumsticks:

  1. Preheat the grill to 400F or medium-high heat.
  2. Mix the honey, lime zest, lime juice, grated garlic, and grated ginger. Set aside.
  3. To butterfly the chicken drumsticks, you’ll cut 2-4 slits alongside the bone to reveal the meat inside. Season both sides generously with the seasoning. Repeat with remaining drumsticks.
  4. Place the drumsticks directly on the hot grills to cook 5-6 minutes, until golden and crisp.
  5. Use tongs to flip the chicken, then brush the chicken drumsticks with half of the honey lime sauce. Cook another 5-6 minutes, until golden and slightly charred.
  6. Flip over the drumsticks to brush the remaining honey lime sauce on the other side and cook an additional 1-2 minutes, until fully cooked and skin is crispy.

How to Make a High Protein Ranch Dressing:

Ingredients you'll need:

  • 1 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
  • ¼ cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • (Optional) 1 tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 tsp. Garlic Granules
  • 1 tsp. Onion Powder
  • 1 tbsp. Fresh Chives, chopped
  • 1 tbsp. Fresh Dill, chopped
  • Salt & Black Pepper, to taste

How to Make it...

  1. Mix all ingredients together until smooth.
  2. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  3. If time allows, set aside in the fridge for 30 minutes to help the flavors develop.

For the Honey Lime Butterflied Drumsticks:

  • Sanderson Farms Chicken Drumsticks Value Pack
  • ¼ cup BBQ Seasoning, or favorite chicken seasoning

  • Ranch, storebought or homemade (below)

For the High Protein Ranch:

  • 1 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
  • ¼ cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • (Optional) 1 tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 tsp. Garlic Granules
  • 1 tsp. Onion Powder
  • 1 tbsp. Fresh Chives, chopped
  • 1 tbsp. Fresh Dill, chopped
  • Salt & Black Pepper, to taste
