Garlic Herb & Spinach Puff Pastry Rolls

These Garlic Herb & Spinach Puff Pastry Rolls are the perfect holiday appetizer or savory side dish, featuring flaky golden pastry wrapped around a creamy, garlicky spinach filling. Elegant, easy to make, and bursting with fresh herb flavor, they’ll steal the spotlight at any festive gathering.

Ingredients you’ll need:

  • frozen chopped spinach
  • alouette garlic & herb soft spreadable cheese
  • grated parmesan
  • egg
  • garlic
  • frozen puff pastry, preferably st dufour!!
  • sesame seeds

Can Spinach Rolls be prepped in advance?

You can prep the filling in advance, but these are best made right before serving! Another tip is to use St Dufour puff pastry – I’m VERY picky with my puff pastry and their thick pastry dough always turns out SO flaky!!

Ingredients

  • 10 oz. Frozen Chopped Spinach thawed
  • 6.5 oz container Alouette Garlic & Herb Soft Spreadable Cheese
  • ¾ cup Grated Parmesan
  • 1 large Egg
  • Optional 2 Garlic Cloves, minced

  • 1 Egg beaten
  • Sesame Seeds for garnishing
  • Salt & Black Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven 375F. Line a large baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Place a thin kitchen cloth over a large bowl, then add the thawed spinach in it. Wrap tightly to seal in the cloth then wring out as much liquid as possible.
  • Dump out the spinach liquid from the bowl.
  • Add the chopped spinach, garlic & herb soft spreadable cheese, grated parmesan, egg, and minced garlic into the bowl. Mix until well combined. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  • Slice the puff pastry sheets in half to create two rectangles that are around 7” in width.
  • Working on the long side of the puff pastry, fill 2” of one side with the spinach filling. Roll up the puff pastry like a log.
  • Slice into 2 1/2” pieces, then evenly spread out on the prepared pan.
  • Brush with the beaten egg. Garnish with sesame seeds.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, rotating the pan halfway through, until deeply golden and flaky.

These are an absolute hit with my friends and family! I recommend roasting the garlic in olive oil for a richer flavor and topping the pastry with Everything Bagel seasoning instead of plain sesame seeds for even more savory flavor.
